Martin Nievera: Pride of the Philippines. Will be fried as well?
I just don’t get it.
We all consider Martin Nievera as one of the best Filipino singers out there.
He owns the title of being The Concert King of the Philippines.
When he went to Las Vegas to perform and pursue his career by penetrating the American crowd, he made us all Filipino proud.
And just because he made some minor changes when he sang our national anthem before Manny Pacquiao’s much-awaited fight with Ricky Hatton, he is now under fire from some they-think-they-are-so-patriotic-yet-just-politicking-because-of-the-upcoming-elections politicians.
Sheesh!
The changes that Martin did when he sang Lupang Hinirang were barely noticeable.
So, what is all the fuss all about?
I have even heard on the news earlier that a politician is planning to file a case against Martin Nievera.
WHAT THE FUCK?
Ok, here is my input on this one: Manny Pacquiao won, right? So, why don’t they just let it go? Stupid politicians!
In case they would pursue filing a case against Mr. Nievera. They should file a case against Jennifer Bautista first.
Who the hell is Jennifer Bautista? She’s the singer-wannabe made infamous when she went off-key when she sang Lupang Hinirang in one of Manny Pacquiao’s fight.
That bitch. She made “piyok”. Binaboy nya yung kanta. That’s my opinion.
And how about this, I’ve heard children singing our national anthem in out-of-this-world tunes. So, those children should be punished as well, right?
How about those out-of-school youths that we can see making “tambay sa kanto” and doing their hiphop/rap songs. Some of them might have even massacred Lupang Hinirang in ways more unimaginable. They should be punished, big time!
What I’m pointing out is, what Martin did when he sang the national anthem is not a heinous crime. He’s a singer, for crying out loud. He has his own style of singing. So, let him be.
I’m positive that before Martin went on the ring to sing, he’s thinking of making his country proud. And we all should be proud of him as well for his beautiful rendition of our beloved national anthem.

If Andrea Bocelli or Paul Potts would sing Lupang Hinirang, expect that charges will be filed against them.
